Dr apt today!! and Birth Plan!

so my dr appt today went really well =D ellie is in fact head down as i suspected, shes doing great, ive gained a total of 28 lbs which my dr said is really good and mainly water retention I passed my diabetes glucose test with a 124 (they try to keep it under 140) dr said i get another sono at 38ish weeks =D i wish it was more like 35 but oh well
also went over my birth plan and she said they already do most of what was on it anyways so im sooo excited and feel so much more comfortable!'


here is my birth plan for anyone who is curious =) my dr said its all very reasonable things and nothing too crazy, i was afraid shed think i was being too demanding and un open to any interventions, which i REALLY dont want any medical interventions but im prepared if i end up needing any because things do happen and God made drs for a reason =)



Birth Plan for Cassandra Bailey & Baby
I am due on July 2nd 2011. This will be my first labor/delivery.  Thank you for being an active participant in this wonderful occasion!

Support and Labor Coach: My husband, Josh.

Labor
- No IV port put in unless deemed necessary by my doctor.
- No IV for fluid unless absolutely necessary.

Pain Medication
- Do not offer any pain medications unless deemed necessary by my doctor.
- Appreciate being assigned a nurse who would support us in natural child birthing.

Monitoring
-No continuous fetal monitoring or internal monitoring unless it is required by my doctor.

Labor Augmentation/Induction
Even if I am fully dilated, and assuming the baby is not in distress, I would like to try to wait until I feel the urge to push before beginning the pushing phase.
- If there’s failure to progress, I would like to thoroughly exhaust all natural methods of labor stimulation (walking, nipple stimulation, breast pump, hot shower, etc.) before having pitocin administered.
- I don’t want my membranes ruptured unless fairly progressed (at least 5-6cm), & then after consent by Josh  and/or myself.

Episiotomy
- Please coach on when to push & when to stop pushing so my perineum can stretch slowly to avoid tearing.
- I am hoping to protect the perineum. I am practicing ahead of time by doing squatting & Kegel exercises.
- If possible, I would like to use perineal massage to help avoid the need for an episiotomy.
- Episiotomy only if absolutely necessary for the health of the baby & only after consent by Josh and/or myself.

Delivery
- Appreciate use of a mirror so I can see the baby's head when it crowns.
- We would like Josh (husband/Dad) to help catch the baby.

Cesarean
- If Cesarean delivery is indicated, we want to be fully informed as to why and, if there is time, we would like to participate in the decision making process.
- Please get consent from my husband and/or I before administering any/all pre- and post-op meds.
- I would like my husband to be present at all times.
- If baby is not in distress, he/she should be given to my husband immediately after cesarean birth.

Immediately After Birth
- I do not want routine pitocin or misoprostal administered.
- Prefer that the umbilical cord stop pulsating before cut.
- My husband would like to cut the cord when it is time.
- Breastfeeding immediately after delivery.
- Hold the baby while I deliver the placenta and any tissue repairs are made.
- Baby bathed in my presence.
- Evaluation of the baby can be done with the baby on my abdomen, unless there is an unusual situation.
- I do not want the baby to be given the Hepatitis B shot

Postpartum
- No pacifier or a bottle given without my consent.
- Appreciate the earliest discharge possible – preferably within 24 hrs of delivery.

Medical Problems with the Baby
- I plan on breastfeeding my baby and would like to pump if breastfeeding is not possible due to medical difficulties.
- Should the baby need to be separated from me for any reason, my husband will accompany the baby at all times.

so last week i bought ellies baby book!!! its the jungle pink and green themed one that matches her room and everything I love it!! also went to the thrift shop yesterday with marsha and found a dress for $7 that still had the tag on it for $118, i was just going to buy it and resell it for money lol but then i decided to try it on even though its not maternity and its PERFECT its green and about knee length and just gorgeous!! im not gonna post it until i post baby shower pictures cause i dont want every one to see it before the party also found a pretty dress thats nice and long like those maxi dresses or whatever you call them at burlington coat factor for only 20 bucks and that one i will wear to my lowville baby shower the other one is for they syracuse baby shower =) (im having 2 because it would just be too hard for every one to try to meet in the middle its a 2 hr difference from syracuse to lowville not including my family from auburn) i also just got my sun baby cloth diapers!! 12 diapers and 12 inserts for only $60 i cant wait for them to come so i can take pictures and show every one, they have the cuuutest designs!!
Ive been having more and more dreams about labor, i must be getting really excited lol also been having lots of braxton hicks lately (they are just contractions that arent regular to prepare you for labor =) )

i think thats all the updates for now, were celebrating easter today with mom n dad bailey doing dinner and easter egg hunt etc and i made some home made rolls mmmm theyre soooo goood!! anyways enjoy your easter everyone!

You know youre pregnant when...........

you start crying and when your husband asks whats wrong, you try to think of something so you dont sound stupid saying "i just felt like crying"

every time you attempt to get up from some where you grunt

when food is about to drip you quick try to put it over your plate just to realize it dropped on your stomach 

you forget how big your stomach is and try to squeeze through spots that are impossible causing you to bump anything around you (people, shopping carts. doors, walls, etc)

you find yourself sleep walking to the toilet in the middle of the night because you had to pee and didnt remeber how you got there in the first place

you crave EVERYTHING that you can NOT get your hands on and cant seem to find anything to eat in your food stocked kitchen

you wake up in the middle of the night to mop the kitchen and do the dishes (nesting)

you know you're pregnant when, for the first time in your entire marriage, your gas is worse than your husbands

you know you're pregnant when you need 5 pillows just to fall asleep and if one falls out of place youre up for an hour trying to get comfortable again

You know youre pregnant when brushing your teeth makes you gag

you know youre pregnant when you can smell what the restraunt 2 blocks down is serving 

you know youre pregnant when every time you cough or sneeze or get a kick from the baby in a certain spot, you have to go change your underwear!

you know youre pregnant when you try to make yourself feel pretty by painting your toe nails, then realize you cant reach your toe nails and begin to cry

you know youre pregnant when you have to squat to pick something up instead of bend down

you know youre pregnant when you contemplate beating up your husband then 5 minutes later want him to cuddle with you and call you beautiful

you know youre pregnant when you laugh and fart at the same time

you know your pregnant when your constantly pulling your pants up and your shirt down

people quickly scoot to make room for you when you're walking down a crowded hall.

you know youre pregnant when the waitress at a restraunt pulls the table back a little bit to make more room for your belly!! (yes this happened to me!! at ruby tuesdays at carousel mall)

You have your "good" maternity clothes that make you look all cute and round and the "at home" maternity clothes which are really just stuff that was way too big for you before! 

you know youre pregnant when every one complains of it being cold cause you opened all the windows from a "hot flash"

It's getting harder to put on your shoes and you wish you only had slip-ons

sweet dreams!

so last night i had yet another dream about my little angel, Luella Rose =D it went something like this......

Josh and i were trying to find this "fun house" with like silly mirrors and some scary haunted house thing and stuff like that at some fair, while we're in the midst of looking for it I start feeling weird, no pains nothing just weird so we go into labor and delivery at the hospital and the dr's check me and say "oh, you're 10 cm dilated and 100% effaced" mean while ive had no painful contractions or anything, just mothers intuition that i had to be at the hospital.
So i finally get to pushing and my ellie is here!!! They said they gave me tylenol for the pain but i had no pain and i thought it was really weird so I asked how much she weighed and joshs dad told me she's 5 lbs and 5 oz which then made sense to me why it didnt hurt so bad
I didn't bring my hospital bag because i didnt know i was in labor so my mom came to the reque and gave me some make up to freshen up for everyone who would be visiting and then i had to borrow some ones baggy clothes so i could get to the store to buy ham for easter dinner (which in reality is what i have to do today, go get some ham because my family is coming tonight to celebrate easter so i think thats what was going on with that part of the dream lol)
any ways and when i got dresses i looked down and felt so weird not having my baby girl in my tummy and not having this huge bump on me.
Oh yeah and i remember some one got a beautiful picture of her right after she was born just about to open her eyes and the dr held her up and some one got a picture of my beautiful dark haired little pink bundle of joy

so that was the gist of my dream, i love dreaming about my baby girl!!! i cant believe i only have 10 more weeks left until i meet her!!! 3/4th's of the way done!!!!!!!!

Singing =D and some updates

so i was in the tub (as i am every night, without my baths i think my back pain would kill me!!) anyways and i sing to ellie every night and she usually seems like she responds but not too active well tonight every single time i stopped singing she kicked and moved around haha and everytime i poked at her she kicked back in that spot it was soooo cute she was EXTREMELY active tonight!! i love it, i just cant wait to hold this cutie pie of mine!!!

also i forgot to upload my pictures from monday of 29 weeks so here they are =) (it was a surprising 70 degrees out that day so im wearing my shorts from last summer, i was waaay too psyched to be able to fit em around my big ol butt haha but still had to keep em unbuttoned n do the hair tie thing)

HOME MADE EVERYTHING!!

ok so maybe its just nesting or who knows, but ive just gotten the urge to do EVERYTHING home made, i make my own bread from scratch no more store bought! ive made ellie 2 blankets (crocheting) and hopefully will learn how to knit soon so i can make other things, i made home made pizza last week (home made dough and sauce!) Also was craving some cream puffs and found out they are WAAY easier to make than i thought, i had all the ingredients in my kitchen!
My mom is 100% a crunchy gronola home schoolin, all natural everything mom and i guess im slowly but surely making my way intot hat category!!

28 weeks!!!

as i took these pictures ellie kept trying to kick the little shoes off of me hahaha i wish i had my video camera on hand and got it on tape!! Had the 1 hr glucose test and LOOOOVED the orange drink, not sure why everyone hates it so much it tasted like a melted cream sicle to me =) im assuming i passed because they said theyd call me immediately if i failed and no news is good new and its been a couple weeks so woohoo =D The baby showers are coming up and Im sooo excited!!! May 7th is my one in the town i live in now and may 22nd is the one in my home town =D i cant wait the games and friends and family are going to be soooo fun, not to mention its my last big mile stone before I have this little one!! Yesterday Danny (joshs brother) wanted to feel ellie kick so he put his hand on my stomach and she kicked him HAAAARD and he jumped back and yelled a little hahah it was soooo cute! shes like "hey there uncle danny! whaaaam" lol shes been giving pretty hard kicks lately my whole stomach moves, its so weird looking. I feel bad for her, almost like she has no room in there and just wants to get outt!!!....soon enough though, soooon enough =)
